about

"‘Treedom’ is a musical exploration of what has become known in recent years as the Wood Wide Web, something which I became fascinated with after reading about it in 2017. It describes the vast and complex underground network of roots, fungi and bacteria connecting trees and plants to one another, allowing them not only to exchange nutrients but also to ‘communicate’ and co-exist in various ways.
The music on this album aims to reflect the complex relationships that exist beneath the soil between trees, plants, fungi and bacteria as well as those relationships that occur above ground between plant life, insects and animals.
The trees and plants that sustain our own existence on Earth may appear to be still and sedate, but a closer look reveals a very different picture."
